Laboratory Tests
When Bioterrein testing was first developed, the range of laboratory tests was limited due to the scientific knowledge available at the time and the absence of certain discoveries. As science has progressed, the need for additional laboratory assessments has grown. Dr. Lemus expanded the variety of tests performed, including saliva and urine analysis, hair analysis, and specific physical measurements, along with detailed interpretations and personalized treatment plans. In addition to these improvements to traditional Bioterrein testing, Dr. Lemus has incorporated the analysis of other tissues such as hair and stool. This expanded testing includes assessments for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, heavy metals, chemical and environmental toxicity, food sensitivities, and other toxins produced by the body. These comprehensive assessments aim to provide a more precise understanding of the origin of a patient's condition and to inform a tailored treatment plan. Allergies, Intolerances, and Toxins: Understanding Hidden Triggers
That Affect Your Health
Allergies and intolerances are increasingly common in modern society, and many people live with chronic symptoms without realizing their root causes. Beyond classic food allergies, the body can also react to intolerances, toxins, and environmental exposures that disrupt digestion, immunity, and overall well-being. Understanding these hidden triggers is the first step to restoring balance, energy, and vitality. Allergies vs. Intolerances: What’s the Difference? -Allergies: Involve an immune system reaction to a specific substance (like peanuts, shellfish, or pollen). Even small amounts can trigger symptoms ranging from skin rashes and digestive issues to dangerous anaphylaxis. -Intolerances: Do not involve the immune system directly but occur when the body has difficulty digesting or processing certain foods (such as lactose or gluten). Symptoms often include bloating, headaches, fatigue, or mood changes. -Toxins: External chemicals, additives, or environmental exposures that overburden detox pathways, weaken immunity, and trigger inflammatory reactions. Common Food Component Reactions 1. Amines: Found in aged cheeses, cured meats, and wine; may cause migraines, flushing, or mood changes. 2. Citrus Fruits: Can provoke skin rashes, acid reflux, or oral irritation in sensitive individuals. 3. Dairy (Casein & Lactose): Casein (milk protein) and lactose (milk sugar) can trigger digestive issues, congestion, or skin conditions. 4. Eggs: Both yolk and white proteins may cause digestive upset, rashes, or respiratory symptoms. 5. Glutamates (MSG): Linked to headaches, chest tightness, and neurological discomfort. 6. Gluten (Gluten & Gliadin): Found in wheat, barley, and rye; linked to celiac disease, brain fog, joint pain, and gut inflammation. 7. Salicylates: Natural plant chemicals in foods like berries, spices, and teas; can cause asthma, rashes, or digestive distress. 8. Shellfish: One of the most common food allergens; reactions may include hives, swelling, and breathing difficulties. 9. Soy: Common in processed foods; linked to digestive upset and hormonal disruption. 10. Sulfites: Preservatives in wine, dried fruits, and packaged foods; may trigger asthma and migraines. 11. Theobromine (Chocolate): May cause overstimulation, migraines, or digestive upset. 12. Yeast: Sensitivity can lead to bloating, gas, or skin conditions. Toxins and Junk Food Reactions Modern diets often include harmful substances that stress the body: -Alcohol: Burdens the liver and disrupts gut balance. -Caffeine: Causes overstimulation, anxiety, or sleep problems in sensitive individuals. -Carcinogens, Toxins, and GMOs: Linked to chronic inflammation, digestive dysfunction, and long-term disease risk. -Fluorides/Chlorine: Common in tap water; disrupt thyroid and gut microbiome. -Refined Sugars: Fuel inflammation, obesity, diabetes, and candida overgrowth. -Pesticides: Common in non-organic foods; disrupt hormones and immune balance. -Mercury-Contaminated Foods: Found in certain fish; damages the nervous system and immunity. -Harmful Fats: Trans fats and processed oils contribute to heart disease, obesity, and inflammation. Children, in particular, are more vulnerable to toxins and food additives. Processed foods, artificial colors, and preservatives can worsen hyperactivity, allergies, and long-term metabolic issues. Vegetarian, Cultural, and Ethical Intolerances In addition to biological intolerances, cultural or ethical beliefs influence food choices: -Red Meat, Poultry, Fish, and Seafood: Some individuals avoid these foods for health, ethical, or cultural reasons. -Dairy & Eggs: Commonly restricted in vegan diets or by those with intolerances. -Non-Hindu, Non-Kosher, or Non-Muslim Foods: Religious traditions may restrict certain foods, and consuming them inadvertently can cause both physical and psychological distress. Understanding these restrictions is key to personalized nutrition and respectful health care. Symptoms of Allergies, Intolerances, and Toxin Overload Hidden reactions can cause chronic, unexplained symptoms such as: -Digestive problems (bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea) -Skin rashes, eczema, or acne -Headaches or migraines -Fatigue and brain fog -Anxiety, mood swings, or hyperactivity (especially in children) -Respiratory issues (asthma, sinus congestion, chronic cough) -Hormonal imbalance and menstrual irregularities -Joint pain and inflammation Supporting the Body’s Natural Defenses -Elimination Diets: Identifying and removing trigger foods can bring rapid relief. -Gut Health Restoration: Probiotics, digestive enzymes, and fiber improve tolerance and reduce sensitivity. -Detoxification Support: Hydration, liver-supportive nutrients (milk thistle, glutathione), and sweat therapies enhance toxin clearance. -Nutritional Optimization: Adequate vitamins and minerals strengthen immunity and tolerance. -Lifestyle Adjustments: Stress management, proper sleep, and clean water reduce cumulative burden. Allergies, Intolerances, and Modern Health Today’s environment — with processed foods, pesticides, artificial chemicals, and hidden additives — places enormous stress on the immune and detoxification systems. Many chronic conditions labeled as “mystery illnesses” are, in fact, the result of unrecognized allergic reactions, food intolerances, and toxin overload. How Lemus Natural Medicine Can Help? Biochemical computer Analysis
Due to the vast amount of information involved in laboratory processes from different tissues, creating a computer program was necessary to compile a comprehensive report. The laboratory results encompass internal chemical processes, system patterns of dysfunction, imbalances, deficiencies, toxicities, food sensitivities, and several other components. This allows us to provide a detailed and individualized report. Our reports are divided into three phases: Functional, Toxic, and Nutritional. Clarity on the Report The report you're dealing with involves a significant amount of data from various tissue samples. To manage and analyze this data efficiently, a specialized computer program was developed. The reports generated from this program are detailed and individualized, covering a wide range of internal body processes and conditions. These reports are categorized into three main phases: Functional Phase: This phase examines the internal chemical processes and system patterns of dysfunction within the body. It helps in identifying functional issues and imbalances that might be affecting the overall health. Toxic Phase: This phase focuses on identifying toxicities within the body. It looks at various harmful substances that might be present and how they impact the body's functioning. Nutritional Phase: This phase evaluates deficiencies and imbalances related to nutrition. It assesses the body's nutritional status, identifying any deficiencies that need to be addressed to improve health. The comprehensive approach allows for a detailed understanding of the body's health, enabling personalized recommendations and interventions.

Food Selection &
Supplement Treatment Plan
Based on your lab results, computerized analysis of your individual biochemistry, and Dr. Lemus' experience, Lemus Natural Medicine determines and develops your treatment plan. This plan includes a food selection guide, nutritional supplements, exercises, hydrotherapy, and possibly other treatment modalities. The food selection is not meant to be permanent but rather a temporary suspension and recommendation of certain foods. This temporary suspension is due to lab findings indicating that certain foods are not recommended as long as specific conditions exist. We will approve and expand the list of foods, as necessary. The food recommendations include nutrient-rich foods that your body needs as therapeutic aids in the healing process. Additionally, the supplements indicated are temporary and not permanent. We will adjust, increase, or decrease doses according to your progress.
