Reported Impact

No illnesses have been reported at this time.

Why It Matters

Cesium-137 (Cs-137) is a man-made radioactive isotope.

  • Low-level traces exist naturally in the environment, but higher exposures increase health risks.

  • The greatest concern is long-term, repeated exposure, which may cause DNA damage and increased cancer risk.

What You Should Do?

  • Do not eat the recalled shrimp.

  • Check your refrigerator for the affected UPC and lot codes.

  • Return to Walmart for a refund, or safely discard the product.

Key Reminder

While no illnesses have been reported, avoiding exposure is the safest course. Long-term consumption of contaminated food can raise cancer risk...
