The normal menstrual cycle causes biphasic stimulation of the breasts: first through estrogen-induced mammary tissue proliferation and then through alveolar tissue via progesterone. While most women do not notice these changes, some experience very noticeable and uncomfortable breast symptoms. Additionally, fibrocystic breast disease is associated with a threefold increased risk of developing breast cancer, and caffeine consumption appears to be one of the main factors that aggravate this condition.
Dietary Principles to Prevent This Condition:
Increase the intake of complex carbohydrates and fiber: It has been found that women who have fewer than three bowel movements per week have a 4.5 times higher risk of developing fibrocystic breast disease compared to those who have at least one daily bowel movement.

Avoid:

Vitamin B6: 100 milligrams twice a day.
Vitamin B Complex: 50 milligrams twice a day.
Vitamin E: 600 units per day.
Beta-carotene: 150,000 units per day. Pregnant women (or those who may become pregnant) should not take more than 15,000 units a day.
Flaxseed oil: 1 tablespoon or 2 capsules per day.
Choline and Methionine: 1,000 milligrams each, daily. These are amino acids used to help the liver correct the hormonal imbalance that leads to cyst formation.
Iodine: 2 micrograms per day or 1 tablet of kelp, which contains iodine.
About the Proper Diet for Fibrocystic Breasts:
The most effective change is to eliminate foods containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate.
Reduce the amount of meat in the diet, especially commercially sourced meat, as it contains excessive amounts of hormones that exacerbate the problem. Any other source of estrogen, such as birth control pills, will also tend to worsen the problem.
Constipation can also aggravate this condition. If you suffer from constipation, increase the amount of fruit.
